Arrival in Xining, hotel pick-up and drop-off
ArriveXining Airport/Railway Station and meet with your guide, then take a private transfer to your hotel.
Qinghai Lake cruise, Kumbum Monastery
After breakfast, meet your guide in the hotel lobby. Today, you will visit the largest monastery of the Gelugpa school, Kumbum Monastery, and stroll around to admire its exquisite artworks and religious decorations. Many Tibetans pray here.
Continue to Qinghai Lake, take a 30-minute boat tour, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of nature on the vast lake.
Sunrise over Qinghai Lake, from Qinghai to Chaka, Chaka Lake, and from Chaka to Xining
Before breakfast, you will go to the lake and wait for the magnificent sunrise. After that, our tour guide and driver will escort you from Qinghai Lake to Chaka. Visit the most famous Chaka Lake, which is one of the largest salt lakes in China. The lake is covered with saltwater; The sky and lake merge into one color, resembling a sky mirror.
Before breakfast, you will head to the lakeside to await the magnificent sunrise. Afterwards, our guide and driver will escort you from Qinghai Lake to Chaka. Visit the most famous Chaka Lake, one of the largest salt lakes in China. The lake is covered with saltwater; the sky and the lake merge into one color, resembling a mirror of the sky.
Tomorrow morning, we will drive from Xining to Zhangye. The highlight of today is spending a day exploring the Zhangye Danxia Geopark.
Prepare some good hiking trails, so walking in different locations can be a bit challenging because you can see different park landscapes there.
Wooden pagodas of the Sui Dynasty, the Great Buddha Temple, and train transfers from Zhangye to Dunhuang
We will first visit the Sui Dynasty Wooden Tower and Zhang Ye's large Big Buddha (Big Buddha Temple), and then head to Dunhuang.
It is amazing that the wooden tower was built without using rivets to connect the wood, and we can admire China's largest Reclining Buddha statue.
Transfer to Zhangye Railway Station and continue to take the train to Dunhuang.
Mogao Caves, Mingsha Mountain
Today we will go to see the highlight of this trip - Maogao Cave. There are approximately 30 caves open to the public, but usually guided tours include 10, which reflects the total number.
Go toEcho Sand Mountainand enjoy the magnificent scenery from the top of the sand dune.. Riding a camel through the desert is a great experience.
Dunhuang Museum, Yumen Pass, Yadan Landform Park Desert Discovery, Han Dynasty Great Wall
The long-distance day trip starts from the ancient site of Yuwang Pass, where you can admire exhibits, historical artifacts, folk art, as well as local cultural and geographical relics at the Dunhuang Museum.
In the afternoon, we will visit the typical Yadan Landform Park, which boasts a unique shape and layout, resembling a natural sculpture museum. At the end of the trip, you can visit the Han Dynasty Great Wall.
